xx Modern Warfare 2 map pack hits Xbox Live March 30 | 10 Mar 10
12:49:33 by Hoozz | Views: 0 | Comments: 0

Infinity Ward creative strategist Robert Bowling's Twitter feed is often the first source of all official news regarding Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Today, he used it to make two major announcements about the game. First off, he revealed the first downloadable map pack for the popular shooter will arrive "in three weeks," or on March 30. He also pointed to a tongue-in-cheek teaser site for the packs, Mapathy.com.

First revealed at Microsoft's E3 2009 press briefing, the map pack will debut on Xbox Live. It is the latest collaboration between the publisher Activision and Microsoft, which also released a limited edition, 250GB Xbox 360 Modern Warfare bundle alongside the game in November. According to another Bowling tweet, "Both PS3 and PC will receive the DLC at a--yet to be announced--later date."

No further details about the Modern Warfare 2 DLC have been made public, including its price and contents. The DLC will likely be an instant hit, though, as the map packs released for Call of Duty: World at War each sold over 1 million units within days of their release in 2009.

xx Star Wars: The Old Republic end game is 'brand new system' | 09 Mar 10
15:34:35 by Hoozz | Views: 1 | Comments: 0

Bioware has revealed that end game content in Star Wars: The Old Republic will mix the classic MMO system with "something brand new".

The 'endgame' content offers players incentives to stay in the game once they've reached maximum level.

Speaking to PC Gamer in its new 'MMO issue', the game's creative director James Olhen said:

"We're looking at classic [endgame] systems, but we're also doing something brand new that hasn't been done in an MMO before. So we're going to mix those two together."

Olhen then got hushed by the game's product manager, but added that Bioware was keen for players to continue questing after hitting maximum.

"We want to make sure the endgame isn't completely different to what you have been doing," he said. "So there will be a natural progression... We want to make sure that when people play ToR they feel like they never run out of content... that it's an epic story."

It seems like this game has been in development for years.  Depending on if I have any other games to play, I may give this one a shot.

xx Star Wars: The Old Republic - Bioware's biggest ever game | 08 Mar 10
13:42:26 by Hoozz | Views: 7 | Comments: 0

Bioware has revealed that much-anticipated MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic is its biggest ever game - and contains more content than all of its previous Triple-A titles put together.

Speaking to the all-new edition of PC Gamer in the magazine's April 'MMO issue', creative director James Ohlen said:

"It's the biggest game I've ever worked on. I'm surprised at the enormity of it every other week. We're creating more content than Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect 1, Dragon Age and Knights Of The Old Republic put together, and throw in Baldur's Gate, too."

LucasArts has previously confirmed that the Star Wars: The Old Republic release date will arrive in spring 2011.

You can read the full six-page feature on Star Wars: The Old Republic in the latest issue of PC Gamer, which reached subscribers today. It'll be in the shops by the end of the week.
